The year was 2020.
We were living amidst a pandemic.
It just seemed the beginning,
Something larger was incoming.
Nobody realised the stakes,
Until it was far too late.
We all looked the other way,
Until it all came haunting our way.
A deadly virus. Melting ice caps.
Global warming and the vanishing forests.
Wars ongoing, the innocent suffering.
Racism’s still here, even this was puzzling.
White or black. Fat or thin.
Different languages or cultures.
Why does it matter?
We all breathe the same.
Failing to understand what’s wrong.
Are we this unsympathetic?
Treating everyone equally,
Why is this the difficulty?
When will we learn?
We’re all the same.
Living in this one world,
Where love and peace should reign thy world.
